AMoN Data Processing Updates

OVERVIEW The AMON data export functionality (https://nadp.slh.wisc.edu/networks/ammonia-monitoring-network/) uses a dynamic script to code and grade data when it is downloaded. This means that samples that have been reviewed by the AMON Reviewer are instantly visible in this download, and that notes and QR codes are dynamic based on the script. These notes and QR codes […] View

NTN Aggregated Conductance Errors (2021 and 2022)

In November 2023, an error was discovered in the script used to calculate the monthly, seasonal, annual, and water year PWM values for conductance. The script was incorrectly multiplying the weekly value by 0.5, reducing the calculated conductance PWM values by half. This affected all aggregated monthly, seasonal, annual, and wateryear conductance values for 2021 […] View

MDN Bottle Contamination and Affected Samples

In mid-November 2022, a contamination issue was discovered with the MDN sample collection bottles that had been in circulation since the end of August 2022. Once identified, the lab immediately stopped sending out bottles from the contaminated bottle lot. It should be noted that this bottle lot was appropriately screened with a robust lot validation […] View

NTN Network NH4 Method Detection Limit Corrections (2016-2017)

In late 2022 it was recognized that the NH4 values appeared to be too high for the 2016 NTN network data. Investigation determined that the data was calculated with an incorrect value of the Method Detection Limit (MDL) for NH4. The incorrect value was set at 0.19mg/L, while the correct value was actually 0.019 mg/L. […] View
