About the Meeting
The meeting is intended for scientists, resource managers, educators, students, policymakers, and others interested in atmospheric deposition, air quality, and its effects on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. NADP data has been used for decades to understand and solve real-world problems impacting people and the planet, including helping to facilitate cleaner water, healthier air quality, more productive fisheries, informed environmental planning, improved air quality and climate forecasting, and responsible environmental stewardship.

- Posters should not exceed the size of 4’ (150cm) x 3’ (92cm) in landscape orientation.
- Please hang posters by 6:00 pm on November 6th.
- You will be able to hang posters on the wall using Command poster strips (provided at the conference)

Symposium Theme: NADP 2024: PROTECTING THE HEALTH OF COMMUNITIES AND ECOSYSTEMS IN A CHANGING CLIMATE
The 2024 symposium will focus on advancing the science and tools that are needed to effectively protect vulnerable populations and ecosystems. While these will be the foci of the symposium, abstracts and presentations on any topic related to atmospheric deposition are welcomed. Symposium sessions will include:
November 6-7, 2024: Scientific Symposium
- Annual State of the NADP Address
- Keynote Address
- Session: Protecting the Great Lakes region and coastal ecosystems from air pollution
- Session: New tools to communicate air quality and atmospheric deposition results
- Session: Health and environmental changes driven by shifts to cleaner energy
- Session: Characterizing cultural and environmental impacts of air pollution to tribal lands
- Session: Linking shifts in air quality, atmospheric deposition, and critical loads to climate-driven events
- Session: Measuring emerging and toxic pollutants
- Session: Sustaining long-term monitoring programs

Field Trip
November 8, 2024: Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center
A field trip is planned to visit the Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center in Finland, MN. The trip will include a visit to the MN99 NTN site which has been operating since 1996. For more information on the field trip https://nadp.slh.wisc.edu/nadp2024/field-trip/.
Student engagement
NADP welcomes and encourages student attendance! Current undergraduate and graduate students presenting posters or talks will be offered a discounted registration fee and will be eligible for an award for best student presentation. See more information on student engagement and travel support opportunities.
Virtual Participation
There will be a virtual option for the Fall Meeting and Scientific Symposium. The Technical and Science committee meetings on Monday and Tuesday will be made available at no charge. Zoom registration links will be posted closer to the date.
